A tag is a short question after a sentence.

Form: am/is/are + I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they

​

ex:   The weather is nice, isn’t it? 

         She is late, isn’t she? 

         We aren’t early, are we?

STEPS

 

• repeat AM, IS, ARE, can or have

• She is a nice girl, is

• is NOT before the comma, then do not put NOT after the comma

• They aren't at home, are

• no  NOT before the comma, then NOT after AM, IS of ARE 

• She is a nice girl, isn't

• repeat a short subject ( he, I, we)

• She has a nice bag, hasn't she ?

• shorten subject: their mother =SHE. Those books =THEY. That dog = IT.

• Their dad can repair bikes, can't he ?
