LESSON 5    THE FOOD I LIKE MOST

At around six o'clock we have dinner, or supper as the English call it. Most of the time my mother prepares dinner, because my father works until half past 5. My mum also works, but she finishes at three o' clock because she doesn't want us to be home alone. When we come home she makes a cup of tea for us and after that we have to do our homework first.

I sometimes ask my mum for nice things to eat. What I like very much is spaghetti bolognese, which is spaghetti with minced meat and tomato sauce. And I love French fries with chicken and apple sauce. And what about pizza! With much tomato sauce and cheese and mushrooms. Lots and lots of mushrooms. And a little ham or bacon. That's delicious too!

Today, Mum is making us potatoes from the oven with garlic and rosemary and salt with broccoli and fish. Fish fingers I mean. My sister Sarah loves those very much. She doesn't like broccoli at all, but she has to eat a little bit of everything. My mum always says that you have to learn to eat everything!
