PAST PERFECT

HAD + 3rd form 

 

USE:  

The past perfect (simple) tense is used to describe an action that has been completed before another past action.

So you say something which someone said in the PAST about something that had happened LONGER AGO.

 

EXAMPLE:

My sister told me yesterday that she had bought a new bag the day before.

Mum told me yesterday that she had visited granddad a week earlier

The kids said yesterday that they had seen an accident the week before.

The teacher said yesterday that he had never experienced that before.
