A: Hi ….

B: Hey ….. nice to see you.

A: I was looking for you.

B: Right. Why?

A: I have a question for you. Do you remember that I had a Saturday job?

B: Had???

A: Yes, had. I really hated that job.

B: I didn’t know that. Why did you hate it?

A: I had to clean and that was not that bad. But I also had to prepare lunch         for the shop assistants and they were always moaning about it.

B: What is it that they didn’t like about it.

A: Well, I prepared healthy lunches with sandwiches and smoothies. They           didn’t want healthy food, they wanted pizzas and things like that. And they     couldn’t stop telling me about it.

B: Wow, that was hard for you, wasn’t it?

A: Yes, it was really, really difficult to do your best and people can’t stop                moaning about the thing you do. So I quit.

B: Yeah, good for you. Don’t you miss the money?

A: Yes, I do. But luckily I have my new smartphone now.

B: Oh, I would like a smartphone as well but I can’t afford it.

A: Maybe I have got the answer to that problem for you.

B: That would be awesome. How?

A: Someone asked me to take over a paper round, oh no, sorry, a magazine        round. My parents don’t allow me to take a paper round and get up at            half past 5 every morning.

B: I can imagine that. My parents think the same about that.

A: But they agree to a job delivering magazine in the afternoon. And that’s          where you come in.

B: How? What do you mean?

A: It’s a job for two people, so I would like you to help me.

B: Oh, thanks for thinking of me! When do we have to work and for how              long?

A: We deliver the mags every Thursday from 4.30 until 7.30. Is that OK for            you?

B: Yes, that’s OK for me. I never have too much homework for Fridays. But I        have to ask my parents first of course.

A: I understand. So are you going to ask them today?

B: I will ask them as soon as they get home. And then I will call you right             away.

A: That would be nice.

B: One more question: What does it earn?

A: Enough to buy yourself a smartphone in 6 months’ time!
