UNIT 1  LESSON 3: JEALOUSY

THE NEW GIRL

As you know, there’s a new girl in our class. She’s called Emma and she was born in Copenhagen in Denmark. She lived there for 6 years and after that she lived in Istanbul for 3 years. She went to an international school there. Then she moved back to Denmark again.

Emma is the most beautiful girl in our class, she’s gorgeous. She’s tall, she’s got blond hair but she’s got brown eyes. She dresses nicely and has a very cute style. Today she wore a

t-shirt with “a smile is the prettiest thing you can wear” on it, and a skirt and cool sneakers. She is very athletic and she can sing very well! But she never sings in public! I know that she sings beautifully because I live next door to her and I heard her! I think she doesn’t know I heard her.

All the boys like Emma very much, they almost adore her. And that’s exactly what the girls don’t like at all! You see the girls looking at her when Emma gets all the attention. If looks could kill… I am happy to see that she has girlfriends who like her a lot. But there are also many girls who are very jealous of her. I don’t understand that because she is really nice to everybody.

Emma is going to have a party next Saturday and she is inviting the whole class. It’s going to be a garden party with a big barbeque. One of the girls who is jealous of her didn’t want to come because she is a vegetarian. Emma told her that she is going to buy some vegetarian food for her, so she can come too. I’d never do that for somebody who is so jealous of me and shows it as well, but Emma does!
