FORM:

PUT –ING AFTER THE VERB

USE:
After verbs that express likes/dislikes and stop/start

Like/Love/enjoy  DO NOT PUT A GERUND AFTER WOULD LIKE/WOULD LOVE

Dislike/hate /don't mind/can't stand.

 

After certain other verbs:

admit

imagine

appreciate

involve

avoid

keep (on)

consider

When the word is in the first place in the sentence:

Reading the newspaper is what I do first every morning.
Getting out of bed eary in the weekend is what I hate most of all.

Singing is my favourite pastime.

After prepositions :

interested in ...

instead of ...

good at ...

before ... after 

 

After certain expressions :

it's no use ...

it's no good ...

there's no point in ....

can't help .....

mention

delay

miss

deny

postpone

finish

suggest
