EXPECT/TELL/WANT/ASK/OFFER

In Dutch you say:

I expect that you do it.

I want that you …

I tell that you …

I offered that he …..

I asked …..

In English you CANNOT say it this way. You cannot use THAT in those sentences.

You have to say:

I expect you to do it.

I want you to go home now.

I told him to stay home.

I offered him to stay with us.

I asked him to help me.
