UNIT 4

LESSON 4       WHO STOLE THESE THINGS?

Yesterday somebody stole Noa’s wallet and Frank’s telephone .

All Noa’s pocket money was in her wallet, because she wanted to buy new jeans that day. Frank’s telephone was in his coat. That was kind of stupid, wasn’t it?

So the teacher asked some questions to all the children.

Jack, did you see Noa’s wallet anywhere? No, Mr. Brown I only saw Sarah’s wallet and I gave that back to her.

Ken, did you take Frank’s phone? No, sir, I didn’t. I don’t need his phone because I have got my father’s phone. He gave me his old phone because he bought a new one.

Gwen, did you steal Noa’s money? No, mr. Brown, I didn’t. Noa is my friend. And I never steal, my parents give me enough pocket money every week to get by.

Jamie, did you find Noa’s pocket money? No sir, I didn’t. But she didn’t lose it, did she? They stole it, didn’t they? And they took Frank’s phone too, didn’t they? Maybe it was someone from this class, but maybe it was somebody else. You can’t be sure, can you? I didn’t see anybody in the corridor. I was in this classroom the whole morning.

At that moment the caretaker came into the classroom. He said that there was a message from Noa’s mum and from Frank’s dad. Noa’s wallet was still at home on the table, she forgot it. And Frank’s dad found Frank's phone in his bag. He put the wrong phone in his bag that morning …….
