LESSON 2        MY SCHOOL

Today is my first day at secondary school and I am very nervous.

A new school with new teachers! And all new classmates in my class. Oh no, not all. There is Tess, she is from my old class in elementary school. There are 25 children in my class. 14 girls and 11boys.

The English teacher is mr Green, he is a tall man. I think he’s about 40 years old. Just like my mum and dad. They’re 36 and 37

At elementary school you have got the same teacher all day but here  I have got another  teacher every 50 minutes. That is nice, but also strange. So many teachers every day!

And this school, it’s so big! Wow. Where are all the classrooms? Every 50 minutes another teacher AND another classroom.

I have got many subjects: Dutch, French, English, Maths, History, Geography, Biology, Arts, PE (physical education), RS (religious studies), Music, Drama and a tutor lesson. There are 33 lessons every week.

We have got some homework every day but that’s okay. If it’s not too much!
