UNIT 3

Lesson 4    WHERE WERE YOU???

Ben :      Ah, there you are. I can never find you when I need you!

Andy :    Well, I can't help that, can I?

Ben :      No, you can’t, I am sorry. You’re right.

Andy:     What’s up?

Ben:        I wanted to know where you were

because my uncle called me an hour ago.

Andy:      What for?

Ben:        He wanted to ask if we were at school today.

Andy:      Why did he want to know that?

Ben:        Because he is going to the lake today for some swimming

and fishing. Fishing is his favourite hobby.

Andy:      At what time is he leaving? Can we still come?

Ben:        Yes!! You were here just in time to call him that we are

                 coming with him.

Do you think your mum is okay with it?

Andy       Sure. She was still at home five minutes ago, so I am going

to ask her now and come back with my fishing gear and

                 swimming trunk.

Did your uncle ask us to bring something

                 to eat?

Ben:        No, that’s the best part. He is taking us out to dinner this

evening and he is taking a picnic basket filled with food.

He only wanted us to bring a towel and swimming clothes.

Andy:      Wow! This is going to be the best trip ever!!
