UNIT 5
LESSON 3: I LOVE MUSIC
There are lots of things that I can do without, but music isn’t one of them. I need music, if I listen to music and certainly if I sing along, it makes me happy. I have listened to music for as long as I can remember. My mum told me once that I could sing before I could speak.
I know that everybody likes a different style of music. There’s nothing as personal as music. The music I like most is Avicii’s music, but I also like Armin van Buuren a lot! The covers he has made are awesome!
This is not the only music I listen to, I also love Miley Cyrus, Dotan, Adele and Jess Glynne. I always listen to music, except for when I am in the classroom. As soon as I get out, I plug in my earphones. Fortunately I have got Spotify so I can listen to whatever I feel like. I have made an amazing playlist and I add songs every day.
My friends like quite another musical style. Josie loves Pop music, Andy likes Trance, George is mad about Gangsta Rap, Carl listens a lot to Metal. Thanks to the earphones we can all listen to what we want to hear ourselves at the same time, without bothering each other.
I don’t play a musical instrument, but I can sing a little. My friends all play something. Josie plays the piano and keyboard, Andy plays the guitar, the electric guitar but also the drums. George can play all types of flutes: the clarinet, the saxophone and the trumpet. He has just bought a German flute to learn to play that too. He is so good at playing! Last but not least, Carl can work magic with a synthesizer.. It would be a very good idea to start a band. I will talk to them about it, it could be fun. I think we could be amazing!
