LESSON 3 LUNCH AT SCHOOL
The lessons at school begin at twenty-five past eight. A lesson is called a period, every period lasts 50 minutes. There are seven or eight periods a day. And, most important, three breaks. The first break is 20 minutes, the second half an hour and the third only ten minutes.
We have got a lunch break at a quarter past twelve. Our lunch is in a lunchbox. We just have some sandwiches and something to drink.
In England, most pupils eat a school lunch. That is a warm meal which is prepared by canteen ladies. Sometimes it's pizza or French fries with chicken, but because people think children need healthy food the lunches are healthy nowadays.
The lunch break ends at twenty to one. Five minutes later our next lesson starts.
